I am simply writing for 2 reasons: first, I'd like to request your prompt permission to display the liblua-image on my blog; I also want to comment on the design of your own blog. I must say that I do admire the layout, choice of color and finally, the content.

If one's content isn't worthy, the design of one's site makes no difference now, does it? Please feel free to visit my blog: The Free Thinking Proletariat and leave whatever comments, criticisms advice or opinions you deem relevant after reviewing the site. Please be prompt with a reply and once again, thank you for serving as such an admirable example to us "greener" bloggers

Have you considered extending python to drive your interface. A lot of training materials/interactive books could be created from such a set-up. ie a python program could access db or sequence problems. It would be nice to have a text display windows to display text to go with the graphics.

I'd say you just describe Enlightenment Foundation Libraries (EFL), specially the way Edje (theme engine) works. It goes a bit more than that, but these things are provided as well.

If you don't know the technologies, you might at least know the products that it enabled: Canola and Carman.

Not entering a technology fight, I do like Qt4 and its direction with CSS-like themes, with declarative UIs with state machines/effects being possible. So Harmattan looks promising.

If GTK's theming isn't that good currently, why not write a new and improved theming module that works with both GTK and Qt?

Take a look at how E17/enlightenment deals with scaling/pixels, I went to a talk by Raster and it made a lot of sense.

I will bake and mail you a BOX OF COOKIES if you can persuade Gtk+ to go in this direction. For some reason, based on various posts, I thought themes and GUI were heading in this direction, but I'm just a lowly watcher.

When do we start? :D

It'd be very cool to have something like this at least optional for gnome 3.0. Would that be possible with a bit ( read: a lot ) of work or is it simply too gargantuan for that?
